Professor Arthur Hill, Carlson School of Management; Managing Me
Professor Art Hill has a passion for understanding how people
and organizations can improve. The Managing Me workshop is the product
of that passion and over 30 years of research, teaching, and consulting.
He has taught executives through universities on four continents –
including IMD International (Lausanne Switzerland), Wits University
(South Africa), the National University of Singapore, Eastern
International University (Vietnam), and the Moscow Institute of
Management. He has been a consultant for over 100 organizations,
including 3M, Nestle, Medtronic, Honeywell, Wells Fargo, and Winnebago.
He was the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Operations Management, the
world’s leading research journal on productivity and quality.
Professor Hill is the John and Nancy Lindahl Professor for Excellence in
Business Education and the Academic Director of the Carlson Consulting
Enterprise in Carlson School of Management at the University of
Minnesota. Until recently, he was the Associate Dean for MBA Programs
in the Carlson School.
Jessica Gallo, Coaching and Creative Communication; Self-Care in Compassionate Careers
Jessica Gallo is an educator and emotional intelligence coach drawn to
discover people’s souls so the world resonates a little more
beautifully. With 20 years as a creative communications director within
journalism, nonprofits and higher education, she truly believes that
people are the purpose of every project. From her colorful Midwestern
studio, she partners with individual and organizational clients focused
on improving relationships, mission alignment, compassionate leadership
and team dynamics. She holds a BFA in Design (University of
Wisconsin-Eau Claire); a CPC in Leadership Coaching (iPEC); and is an
unquenchable life-long learner. She taught as an adjunct instructor at
the University of St. Thomas and the Minneapolis College of Art &
Design. Giving outward, she is a 10-year ESL volunteer (CLUES,
International Institute of Minnesota) and dedicated mentor (Grad Life
Choices/New York). She lives with her family in a cozy 1913 bungalow,
loves Earl Grey tea and walks along any body of water with waves. Open
