ARRM’s Technology Showcase will demonstrate how technology is being used to deliver innovative, person-centered supports to people with disabilities. This workshop will bring together people who care about maintaining quality services: Minnesota providers (mid to upper level management and administrators), case managers, county and state staff, self-advocates, guardians, and family members. Conference attendees will learn about the latest technology solutions, and will get a glimpse of what disability services may look like in the future.

Keynote: Strategically Incorporating Technology into Your Operational Process
Greg Wellems, Business Development Manager, Imagine! Colorado
The focus of this keynote is on how organizations can include technology in their strategic planning by providing a process to “get on top of the technology wave.” The speaker will also provide specific best practices for implementing technology to improve the quality of services and supports.
Morning Session: Emerging Technology Helps People With Disabilities
Rodney Bell, Principal ASSET Consulting, will give an overview of how people with disabilities and their providers can use technology for residential monitoring, cognitive support, and other person-centered supports.
Morning Panel: Lessons and Issues for Successful Technology Deployment
A panel of technology vendors will offer their advice for implementing emerging technology, from understanding needs to changing care practices and customizing products. Panelists include representatives from CaraSolva, AbleLink, Sengistix, Rest Assured, Imagine, and Night Owl Support.
Afternoon Breakout Sessions: Emerging Products and Services for People with Disabilities

Keynote: Alex Bartolic, Director Minnesota Disability Services Div, DHS
Morning Panel: Fostering Technology – Implications for Governance
County representatives, Alex Bartolic (DHS), and a Minnesota provider will discuss governance issues related to the use of technology, and will address how other states are dealing with technology funding and policy issues.
Morning Breakout Sessions: Governance and Technology
Learn more about governance approaches presented in morning panel. There will be discussion on how funding has been used and what is being done in other states.
Lunch and Roundtable Discussion Groups (topics TBD)
Afternoon Panel: Lessons and Issues from Stories About Successful Technology Use
This panel, comprised of both providers and a parent, will discuss how organizations are currently using the technology solutions introduced on Tuesday, and what success and challenges they have had. Panelists include parent Dennis Collinsand his son Jeremy, as well as representatives from Home and Community Options, Owakihi, Hammer, Wabash Center, and Imagine! Colorado.

Learn more from panelists about how they implemented technology in a variety of settings.

Registration: 8:00 – 8:45 am
Sessions: 8:45 am – 5 pm
Lunch and breaks are included. The breaks will allow ample time for visiting vendors and networking with attendees.
The registration deadline is the end of the day on March 9, 2012. The maximum number of attendees for this conference will be limited to 250, so be sure to register early.
Technology Showcase Cost
ARRM Members: $199 for both days, $139 for one day
Non ARRM Members: $299 for both days, $209 for one day
Registration fees will be refunded less a $25 administrative fee for cancellations received by the end of day, March 9, 2012. There is no refund for cancellations received after that date, regardless of reason; substitutions are permitted. There is a $25 late fee for registrations received after the deadline date. No-shows will be billed.
