ARRM offers a variety of training seminars throughout the year. The topics vary depending on the identified need within the membership. Topics of training over the past couple of years have included Wage and Hour Regulations, Employment Practices, TBI/Mental Health, Working with Families, Using Technology in Training, Training Design, Behavior Management Plan Design, Aging, Substance use/abuse in addition to the CFO meeting which focus on legislative and rule changes. We also offer annual educational and special events such as the Leadership Conference, and Community Enrichment Week. Education Policy Instituted for Workshops As of March 20, 2008, ARRM is instituting a new policy around registration for its workshops. Registration fees will be refunded, less a $25 administrative fee, for cancellations received by registration deadline date. If the National Weather Service advises no travel in the registrant’s area of the state, a refund of the workshop fee, minus a $25 administrative fee will be credited back to the organization. There is no refund for cancellations received after registration deadline date, regardless of reason; substitutions are permitted. There is a $25 late fee for registrations received after the registration deadline date and lunch is not guaranteed. No shows will be billed. The registration deadline is set because final arrangements need to be made for space, refreshments and lunch. We have to give our vendors at least 7 days notice of the final counts; it is often impossible to increase those numbers as the vendors order their supplies a week ahead of time. We have tried to be customer friendly with allowing people to register after the stated deadline; we will continue to do so as we are able, barring space constraints. However it will cost you more to procrastinate and lunch may not be available. To avoid this situation, we urge you to register for workshops in a timely manner – that is before the registration deadline. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Watch this page in the website for additional information as these training and events opportunities are finalized. And, as always, please contact ARRM if there are other areas of training that you would like to see offered. |
