Blueprint for Reform: Timeline

ARRM has an ambitious timeline to acheive our reforms.

September 9 Review plan with legislators
mid-September Share plan with DHS
September 29 Show plan to ARRM members and other stakeholders at ARRM's Leadership Conference
early October Conduct meetings with DHS and make revisions to plan, per stakeholder feedback
late October Continue legislator and stakeholder meetings; draft bill language
November Continue legislator and stakeholder meetings; finalize bill language
December Continue legislator and stakeholder meetings; jacket bill, get authors, ask for hearings
January Introduce bill in legislature
February-May Hearings and negotiations; seek media coverage
May 2012 Pass bill

As we work to pass our reform bill during the 2012 Legislative Session, we will:

  • look to existing models and reform ideas for inspiration,
  • work to strengthen teams,
  • encourage pilots and innovation, and
  • regularly engage our stakeholders and solicit their feedback.
