Members elect Eight to ARRM board

The ARRM membership reelected three Directors to their second three-year terms and five new members to the ARRM Board of Directors at the association’s annual meeting last week.

Re-elected to the Board are:

David Doth, REM Minnesota

Rosemary Geist, Fraser

Terry Morrison, New Dawn

Newly elected to the Board are:

Gloria Freeman, Olu’s Home

Barb Jacobson, Dungarvin

Jon Nelson, RSI of NE Minnesota

Nancy Rosemore, Lutheran Social Service of MN

Susann Zeug-Hoese, Mount Olivet Rolling Acres

Leaving the Board

Kathy Shroyer, STAR Services, decided to not to run for a second term.

Jeri Schoonover, Lutheran Social Service of MN, second term expired

Bruce Torgerson, Mount Olivet Rolling Acres, second term expired

Board Directors can serve a maximum of two consecutive three-year terms.

Continuing on the Board:

President Rhonda King, Creative Care for Reaching Independence. Rhonda is finishing a first term as the Board President. Presidents typically serve two one-year terms. If Rhonda is reelected President she will chair the Board but not have a vote, as our bylaws allow anyone from the organizational membership to be elected Board President. Should someone else be elected president she would stay on the Board as Immediate Past President.

Past President Karin Stockwell, Dungarvin. Karin’s second term expired, but she will continue on the Board as Immediate Past President if Rhonda King is reelected President of the Board. If someone else is elected President, Rhonda would then stay on the Board as the Immediate Past President.

Officers and Committee / Task Force Chairs

The new Board will elect its officers (President, vice President, Secretary and Treasurer) at the June Board meeting. After the election, the ARRM President will designate ARRM Committee and Task Force chairs for the year. ARRM will also honor Directors leaving the Board. We’ll report on all the accomplishment they made in the June Bulletin Board. Suffice it to say, we are most grateful for the many hours and many contributions that Kathy Shroyer, Jeri Schoonover and Bruce Torgerson have made to the association and industry.

Other Annual Meeting Business

During the annual meeting Treasurer Devin Nelson summarized the past fiscal year, President Rhonda King updated the membership on issues, accomplishments and challenges over the past year, Executive Director Bruce Nelson gave a legislative update, and ANCOR representative Karin Stockwell summarized federal issues.
