Community Enrichment Week

October 23 - 29, 2011

ARRM members will plan and participate in community events during the week of October 23 through 29, 2011 to celebrate Community Enrichment Week. The overall goal of Community Enrichment Week is to showcase contributions people with disabilities can make to their community as well as encourage understanding and acceptance of people with all abilities.

The week kicks off with an ART Abilities gallery opening at the Hennepin County Ridgedale Library on October 23rd. The artist and family reception takes place from 11 a.m. to noon, and the gallery opening is from noon to 1 p.m. on the second floor of the library. Art will be removed from the library on November 16th.

Over the past several years, ARRM has mobilized volunteers from around the state to make contributions to their communities through civic projects, collecting food, raking a neighbors yard, helping the elderly, or cleaning up local parks.

What are your plans for Community Enrichment Week? Let us know, so we can promote your event on our What's New(s) blog!

Click on a link at left for Word document templates of a press release, proclamation and sample invitation letter used to generate interest for your Community Enrichment Week event.

We encourage you to send these to your local media or city officials to gain even more recognition for the great work we do in our communities.

Throughout its history, Community Enrichment Week has been exceptionally successful. Thank you for joining us again this year to make this event a celebration of our communities!
