This will be an excellent opportunity for you to hear from the members of our community - your constituents - who are the most closely affected by developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, autism, mental illness and other disabilities.

Reductions in funding, the growing demand for services, and the ever-present Medicaid crisis, are making it increasingly difficult to address the needs of some of our most vulnerable citizens - those with disabilities. We would like to take this opportunity to share our ideas with you on how we can work together to improve this situation.

At this visit, you will have the chance to meet consumers of services and their families who will share with you their personal experiences attempting to achieve greater independence. You will also meet Board members and staff who will convey to you their daily struggles to ensure that they are making the most effective use of limited resources.

During this visit, we would also welcome your comments on issues related to the disability industry and would like to hear any thoughts you have on how we can assist you as you work to represent our interests.
